About Our Glass Company
Viking Glass Station was founded in 1982, although our roots go much deeper. Anthony “Tony” Rinaldi, started our glass company in North Canton, OH, in 1957 as Ace Glass & Mirror. They quickly became the premier glass shop in town.
In 1970, an offer was made that he couldn’t refuse and the business was sold to a national glass chain. That's when Toby our Founder became the manager and served in that role for 11 years. During that time, most of his ideas and goals were lost or ignored in corporate red tape. He realized then that A Glass Station must become a reality.
Our Company Now
We opened on December 1, 1982, with Toby, just 2 technicians, and his wife, Linda, who was acting as outside sales force for a time. Because of all the great friends and clients we have formed over the years, The Glass Station flourished. In 1991, we expanded, with more business and more family. We purchased the Vikingglass Station and hired Michael Zelle, our owner’s son-in-law, to help run the family business. His children, David and Vicki, joined on too.
David worked summers through high school and college and went full-time in 1992. He was hired as our 3rd generation Glass Man. Vicki formally joined in 1996 when a new outside sales position became available. She is responsible for maintaining our relationships with our many valued friends and clients. Vicki’s, Michael’s, and David’s children have also all helped the business either through summers or weekly maintenance positions. Having potential 4th generation glass family members in the business means we can keep serving customers for years.
Where We Go From Here
From just 3 of us in 1982 to over 15 quality people today, we have a combined experience level exceeding 250 years. The future looks bright indeed for our independent, family owned and operated glass company. We’re quite proud of David, Michael, Vicki, our excellent office staff, and the technicians who are second to none. From residential to commercial glass, we are committed to giving our clients the highest quality products and service possible.
In 2006, with the guidance of David and Michael, the support of Vicki, the 4th generation, and a great crew, Toby decided to retire and sell the business to David, Michael, and Vicki. We look forward to continuing our service to community and clients. Our thanks go to all of our many friends and clients for their business and support, but especially to the following people:
